The name of my business is Gil Jackson Books Professional Book Production + Allied. The website name of Professional Book Formatting is the production and formatting of fiction and non-fiction books in either ebook or paperback format, validated to industry standards for the client's downloading requirements to any of the world's book platforms and aggregators. The business is registered on the United Kingdom Government Supplier Procurement Registration website under my Data Universal Number System (DUNS): 225546674. This is your guarantee you are dealing with a recognised UK business.

Professional Book Formatting reserves the right to decline any work that is of an offensive nature. Offensive is the business’s interpretation and not the client’s. Offensive includes, but is not limited, to publications that are anti-racist, anti-religious whether faiths or none, colour, race or creed, anti-agnostic, anti-atheist, obscene, illegal, inflammatory, defamatory, gender deviation or likely to cause offence. Professional Book Formatting declines to accept any liability from any subsequent printing or publishing should third parties’ take offence or actions against such publications on such grounds and others. Professional Book Formatting accepts no liability for any offence or laws of a country resulting from any legal action arising from any work that is carried out and subsequently published in good nature or by the client or the client’s representatives by him. Professional Book Formatting accepts no liability for any inaccuracies resulting in losses from any errors for whatever reason in the production of e-books, paperback books, proofreading errors after having been completed and finalised. All completed work is for the client to finaly oversee and is his or hers responsibility.

Before a quotation is given all material, pictures, and objects relevant to the production of the work must be supplied and outlined. Any subsequent material later brought forward for inclusion may incur additional charges. Additional charges will be applied to any photographs needed or images bought should the client’s originals be unsuitable.

A price quotation for any work will be sent to the client for approval before any work is undertaken. If accepted it needs to be signed with approval to commence work and returned to me. A full price will then be required. Payment is either through PayPal, Debit Card, Credit Card or Bank transfer whichever is the most convenient. I am not VAT registered and do not charge VAT, but depending on any outsourcing required by the client then their VAT will be charged. Details of payment method will be sent to the client on approval of price.

After a reasonable time, and after having commenced working, the client has to suspend that work, then there will be a cancellation charge of 20 per cent of the quotation. A ‘reasonable time’ acceptable by both client and Professional Book Formatting at the commencement being dependent on the amount of work completed. A minimum cancellation fee will be $80 or £80 or €75 as at June, 2026. There is a minimum charge for any work of $85 or £70 or €75.

Prices shown for Formatting of Paperback Books (pages) and EBooks (sections) is for text alone. Paperbacks per page; EBooks per section does not include any custom pages e.g. special chapter headings, bibliographies, advertisements, title page, half-title page, copyright, or cover. These will be charged at my hourly 2026 rates: £25, €28,50, $33.70.
