Enhance your Paperback Book with Craftsman Make-up

With a career spanning decades in Book and Magazine industries, I am a highly qualified Book Make-up Craftsman with a deep-rooted passion for the written and printed word. As an apprentice Typesetter and Proofreader in London's West End I was indoctrinated to the highest standards of the profession as set out by the Stationers' Hall in the City of London, and the National Graphical Association.

This rigorous foundation instilled in me a meticulous eye for detail and a profound respect for typographic precision.

Before becoming an Origination Manager for several Book Setting and Print companies I worked in production departments typesetting and making-up books as a profession for some of the most prestigious Publishing Houses in the UK. Later conversing with representatives of those same organisations on a daily basis with their production departments for their publications. With all of this, I confidently bring a legacy of excellence and integrity to your own Book Make-up or Formatting manuscripts.

How much can I expect to pay for a Paperback Book?

Depending on the number of words and the content of your manuscript will determine that. From the price point of view, although my rates are competitive there are other matters to be considered. As I mentioned on the Home page I did not move from one profession into Professional Book Formatting, picking it up as I went along, I was born into it. I have heard claims by some that they have formatted — in one case — 5,000 books. The image of the person in question was of a young man of about twenty (age ninety, a thousand formats, would make little difference to my argument). I'll leave you to make a judgement on their expertise for such claims.

The number of words is the basis for all Paperback Book Make-up's. Page sizes are another factor, along with any extraneous formatting of text displayed in the book's interior. My own books tend to be 8x5in, but you may have other ideas. Of course the size of the book and the number of pages will determine its finished price when it comes to the actual printing.

The Point Size and its Interlinear Spaces will all determine the number of printed pages at the end. Of course adjustments can be made later if you decide to change any of these variables.

As an example the type itself tends to be something on something. By that, I mean, 9pt/15pt;12pt/14pt are just some of many formats.

Chapter Headings along with any chapter quotations etc; all these make for the look, size and enhancement of your finished Book. Below is a résumé of a Paperback Book's interior. Much the same as the EBook version, except, Page Headers and Footers can be more enhanced; Chapter Titles have an almost endless selection of Type Faces to choose from, but they will need to be embedded for the completed PDF File before being uploaded to the Platform.
